Bloodstone is a powerful and ancient gemstone recognized for its deep green base color marked with distinctive red or reddish-brown spots that resemble drops of blood. These red inclusions are caused by iron oxide, giving the stone its iconic and symbolic appearance. Bloodstone is a variety of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) and has been valued since ancient times across India, Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece for both spiritual and practical purposes.
